St. Charles

Located about 40 miles west of Chicago, St. Charles is part of a tri-city area along with Geneva and Batavia. Downtown St. Charles was named one of the region’s “Top 10” by the Chicago Tribune for fine dining, arts and entertainment, recreational opportunities, unique shopping, and a lively nightlife. St. Charles is home to the Arcada theatre, a notable attraction where many famous performers have appeared including Martin Short, Joan Rivers, and Bill Cosby. The local fairgrounds host the County Fair and year-round Flea Market. Downtown St. Charles’ Lincoln Park serves as the central location for two annual citywide events: the Pride of the Fox RiverFest in June, and the Scarecrow Festival in October.  St. Charles is also home to the Fox Valley Concert Band.  Sports enthusiasts delight in public open spaces: woodlands, wetlands, prairies, bike & walking trails. Cheer on the “Cougars”, the local minor league baseball team. There is something for everyone with numerous golf courses, two league-size hockey rinks, paddlewheel boat cruises, bike, canoe and pedalboat rentals.  St. Charles boasts award-winning public schools.
